Boquete

Boquete

On the way to Boquete we stopped on the side of the road to see some Native bead work for sale. Then I saw this little guy! Welcome to Animal Planet, people!
 Welcome to Boquete, dreamland paradise!
 A river runs through it.
The Oasis Hotel, our home for one night. It was soooo nice!
View from the back balcony, I wish I could have stayed longer so I could have enjoyed this view with a nice cup of coffee.
A tree with very odd but beautiful flowers.
My room. It was cold enough for me to sleep with a light blanket. That was really nice!
Fire place in the restaurant downstairs.
 Pond river in the garden.
Garden of the Oasis Hotel.
View of the river from the gardens of the Oasis Hotel.
The Oasis gardens had so many beautiful flowers. I was in Heaven!

The back of the hotel. So beautiful.
 Garden pond.
 Fan palm?
This little guy stayed on the same wall the entire time we were in Boquete. Maybe he was dead.... But I liked the little yellow hearts on his wings.
Little patio over the big pond in the garden.
Sunday morning, Mario and I completed the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in the ice cold river by the hotel. SO COLD!
When we went to breakfast we discovered these little guys.
 Hi there Tucan Sam!
He wanted to eat my ears...haha!
Look at him eyeballing my ears!
We went on an adventure up the mountain before we left this paradise.

It actually looked a lot like rain forest up here.

Everything was so green!

There were so many beautiful flowers that I had never seen before. I am in love!
Dancing Fairy Flowers (not the real name, I just made that up...)
 Time for some yummy coffee!

El Parador also had very beautiful gardens.

I wish I would have had time to walk around this garden.
Next time I want to hike the volcano!

A little birdie taking a bath. I really want to see a monkey and a parrot before I leave Panama.
 Mocha Cappuccino. Delicious!
We all liked our coffees! Me, Luis, Josue, and Mario.
I got a little gift from our new friend Elsa. She was showing us around.
Awesome house on the way to a big surprise.
 Driveway to the big surprise.
This house. I am in love with this house and its gardens.
 Passion Fruit Flower.
 Greenhouse. I want one!
View of her garden and the side of the mountain.
 Strangler Fig Tree.

Pretty big tree. It killed the original tree and it rotted out so now the inside of this tree is hollow!
But the spaces are not very big... Mario didn't fit.
View up the inside of the tree. Apparently there is a little family of Chameleons that live in here but they must have been on vacation when we visited.

Another house on the driveway that belongs to Luis' friend Marjorie.
 Hello little fishies!
 Greenhouse # 1 at Marjorie's house.
View of the top of her garden.
Small pond at the back of the house. The irrigation ditch/river went down the mountain and ended up in a well.
View of the other house we had just visited. Nestled right on the tip of the mountain so the view is spectacular!
Hard to see, but here is bug # 3!
The well at the end of the river. So cool!
 Where's Mario?
 Oh! There he is!!!
 Marjorie's main Greenhouse.
It was spectacular. There are not many words to describe it, and my pictures do not do it justice. Please enjoy!
 Orchids, orchids everywhere!

The fish must have been hungry, they kept trying to eat my fingers.
Another coffee shop-hotel we visited to get some views!
 Boquete is breath taking!
 Hotel with the views.
This is a carving on a tree stump. I told my dad he should do this on his tree in the backyard....

I loved Boquete!!!
